all my digital works in my gallery have been used with my tablet. the only thing that ive had to do was replace the pen a few times, but thats nothing too bad. i have had no problems with using it so far. Well…resolution on paper and precision in reality are not necessarily the same…converting input to digital numbers corresponding to an arbitrarily high resolution gives you nothing if the analog parts are crap and the noise makes the pointer jump by as much as 0.1mm. i have that same tablet: aiptek HP 12000U. Im just writing to tell that I have FINALLY put my Aiptek 8000U to work properly (with pressure) under Ubuntu. Please bare in mind though im searching for my FIRST graphics tablet so might have some of this info wrong… ie check for your self Well I totally agree on the poor Linux support. I’m confused on these areas though: does the pen need a battery, whats the pen accuracy and does it have tilt sensitivity? (can’t see any reference on there website about these things) notice pen pressure is the same as the wacom. The same could be said to the pen pressure also. I’ve been looking into this product too and have been comparing the spec’s to the intuos tablet and found some interesting results…Īccording to the aiptek spec’s of the AIPTEK 14000UĪccording to the Wacom spec’s of the intuosĬonsidering that most other graphics tablets have resolution about half that i think its off to a good start.
